Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

The Sublymn / SublyMn Chrome extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personally identifiable information. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Personal information (name, address, email, phone, age)
• Authentication information (passwords, credentials, security questions, PINs)
• Financial or payment information
• Health or medical information
• Personal communications (emails, messages, chats)
• Location data (IP-based or GPS), browsing history, or web history
• User activity such as clicks, mouse position, scroll, or keystroke logging
• Any website content other than the visible subtitle text on a YouTube video page that the user is currently watching

2. What the extension does

When you are watching a YouTube video with English captions enabled, the extension reads the on-screen English subtitle text and sends only that subtitle text over HTTPS to Google's public translation endpoint (translate.googleapis.com) to obtain a Mongolian translation. The translated text is then displayed on the YouTube page next to or in place of the original subtitle. The subtitle text and the translation are not stored on any server we operate, and they are not associated with any user identifier.

3. Local storage

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to remember your in-extension preferences (whether translation is enabled and whether dual-subtitle mode is on). This data never leaves your device.

4. Permissions justification

• storage — to save your on/off and dual-subtitle preferences on your device.
• activeTab / scripting — to inject the subtitle-reading content script into the YouTube tab you are currently using.
• host permission for *.youtube.com — to read visible subtitle text on YouTube watch pages.
• host permission for translate.googleapis.com — to send the subtitle text for translation.

5. Third-party service

Subtitle text is sent to Google Translate (translate.googleapis.com), operated by Google LLC, solely to obtain a translation. Use of that endpoint is subject to Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Data usage and sale

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use user data for purposes unrelated to the single described purpose of subtitle translation. We do not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

7. Children's privacy

The extension is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above will be revised when changes are published.
